Parent's Corner

If you are looking for a nursery school in Otopeni for your pre-school child that is inviting and engaging, as well as homely and professional and where the teaching is carried out in English, MY FIRST ENGLISH ADVENTURE may be the answer.

We have highly qualified teachers who understand the special needs of your child. Our modern new school is located conveniently in the city centre, next to the central park.

How we learn together

Play is the most important “work” for children through which they learn about the world around them. Our curriculum is based on play and takes into account children’s interests, needs and abilities. We have found that pre-school aged children are eager to learn things that are related to their everyday lives.

Children are born to be curious. We think that the teachers’ role is to help to harness this curiosity and shape it into rational, logical and sustainable processes of thought. This can be most effectively done by interesting, meaningful, hands-on learning experiences. Our ultimate aim is to open the door of learning for children and make them love the process so that they will become self-motivated learners in their future lives.

Our learning groups

Our nursery school takes children from 12 months up to 6 years old, divided into four academic year groups:

  1. - Pixie Group: children between 1 and 3 years old
  2. - Dragon Group: children between 3 and 4 years old (children must be 3 by September 1st)
  3. - Superhero Group: children between 4 and 5 years old
  4. - Wizard Group: children older than 5

Activities and experiences are planned within the areas of learning as specified in the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. The six areas of learning are:
•Communication, Language and Literacy.
•Problem Solving, Reasoning and Numeracy.
•Knowledge and Understanding of the World.
•Creative Development.
•Personal, Social and Emotional Development.
•Physical Development
Meeting individual needs of all children lies at the heart of the International Prechool Curriculum. We deliver personalised learning, development and care, to help all children to get the best possible start in life.

All children are encouraged to participate in a wide range of activities to extend and build upon their existing skills, interests and knowledge through themes that are meaningful and interesting to the children. It is also important that the children have fun, enjoy coming to nursery and gain a thirst for learning.

In addition, the International Prechool Curriculumis planned in conjunction with the Primary Years Programme. It focuses on the total growth of the developing child, encompassing social, physical, emotional and cultural needs in addition to academic development.
